We're building the transparency resource that Scottish homeowners deserve—aggregating official data to help you make informed decisions about property factors.
Why we exist
Scotland has a unique property factoring system. Unlike the rest of the UK, Scottish law requires property factors to be registered and comply with a statutory Code of Conduct. The Housing & Property Chamber handles disputes, and the Scottish Government maintains a public register of all licensed factors.
But here's the problem: while this data exists, it's scattered across multiple government websites, tribunal databases, and official registers. No single resource brings it together in a way that actually helps homeowners compare their options.
That's what we're here to fix. Compare Factors Scotland aggregates data from official sources—the Property Factor Register, tribunal decisions, Companies House, and review platforms—so you can see the full picture in one place.
Our approach
We believe in showing you verifiable, comparable data rather than subjective opinions. Every factor profile on our site is built from official sources that anyone can check.
We don't take payments from property factors to improve their rankings or hide negative information. When you request quotes through our site, factors pay us a small referral fee—but this never affects the data we show or how we rank companies.
Our methodology is published in full. If you disagree with how we've scored something, you can see exactly how we calculated it and tell us if you think we've got it wrong.

Who's behind this?
Compare Factors Scotland is an independent project. We're not affiliated with the Scottish Government, any property factor, or any trade body. We're simply homeowners who got frustrated by how hard it was to find reliable information about factors—and decided to build the resource we wished existed.
